Issue

After changing the Tableau Cloud site URL, the existing flow doesn't properly recognize the connected published data sources in the input steps, making the flow unavailable.

Environment

  • Tableau Cloud
  • Tableau Prep Builder
  • Published Data Source

Resolution

Workaround 1:

1. Edit the existing flow in Tableau Cloud (or Tableau Prep Builder), choose "Tableau Server" and reselect the published data source on Tableau Cloud, add it as a new input step temporarily.
2. Drag and drop the newly added input step to replace the original input step.

Workaround 2:

Use a new input step to recreate the existing flow instead.

Cause

After changing the site name, the URL is also changed and does not match the information saved in the flow file.

Additional Information

When a flow is published, the connection information for the input step is saved with it as part of the flow file. Currently, it must be updated manually if the site URL changes.
