Unable to Download Old Mac Products

Issue

When trying to download the installer for an old version of Tableau Desktop or Tableau Prep Builder for the Mac, the download link is unavailable and the following message is displayed instead:

This product version is not available on this operating system. Download the latest version.

Resolution

Download and install or upgrade to the latest maintenance release for the product version you wish to install. This latest maintenance release contains all the most recent fixes for known defects and is the most up to date version with Tableau's security standards. Maintenance releases (for example 2020.3.x) do not have any issues with version compatibility, and are simply upgraded versions of the existing product download.

Cause

In preparation for revoking an old certificate for macOS based Tableau products on August 10th, 2021, we've removed installer downloads for versions of Tableau on Mac that use the old certificate. Once the old certificate is revoked, Tableau products released before July 2020 will no longer launch on macOS. Signing with the new certificate was part of Tableau’s integration process into Salesforce.
