Issue

Tables are not listed after connecting to TIBCO data virtualization. Even if the connection is established successfully between the TDV and Tableau, the TDV resource may not be visible in Tableau

Environment

  • Tableau Desktop

Resolution

1. Open TDV Studio.
2. Expand the Composite Data Services under the resource tree.
3. Right-click on the Databases folder and create a new Database of the desired name.
4. Right-click on the newly created Database and create a new Catalog. Assign a name to the catalog.
5. Right-click on the newly created Catalog and create a new Schema. Assign a name to the schema.
6. Go to the resource that needs to be published, right-click on it and select the Publish option.
7. A new window will be prompted, select the Schema created in step (5) and click OK.

NOTE:
Below is the path that the published resource will have in TDV:
Composite Data Services--> Databases-->Database(created by you)-->Catalog-->Schema
