Safe-Listing for Conductor with Tableau Server on Red Hat Linux

Issue

When attempting to run a published flow that uses a drive connection to an file on a shared drive, the following error is returned:

Flow run ID: {<##>} failed on output step: {<...>}. The output step failure message: You don't have the necessary permissions to publish to the file path specified for output step {0}. Change the output destination then try running the flow again. java.lang.RuntimeException

Environment

  • Tableau Server 2020.2.3
  • Red Hat (RHEL) Linux 7.7

Resolution

Check the OS/kernel version of the machine running Tableau Server and make sure the kernel version is supported for safe listing with Tableau Conductor/Tableau Server.

Additional Information

Currently, for Red Hat, kernel 4.x only is available with Red Hat version 8. Tableau Server is not compatible with Red Hat Linux version 8.
