Receiving Tableau Bridge emails for data sources no longer being refreshed on Tableau Bridge "Tableau Bridge Extract Refresh Has Not Completed"

An email is received advising that a Tableau Bridge extract refresh has not completed for a data source that is not being refreshed by Tableau Bridge.

  1. In Tableau Online go to the the data source that the email mentions.
  2. Select the "Extract Refreshes" tab.
  3. On the right hand side you should see that the "Refresh this extract on"  has the option "Tableau Online" selected. You may also see that you have Extract Refresh schedules running in Tableau Online for this data source. Please take a note of the current extract refresh schedules that are in place (as they will be temporarily removed in the next step).
  4. Select the "Tableau Online" button on the right hand side and the "Choose Where to Run Extract Refreshes" popup should appear.
  5. Temporarily change the option from "Tableau Online" to "A Computer on my network with Tableau Bridge installed" and choose the machine listed in the email you received. and select "Save"
  6. You should now see an Extract Refresh schedule appear (or more than one), select the (...) beside the refresh schedule and select "Delete"
  7. Change the "Refresh this extract on" button back to Tableau Online by clicking on it and selecting "Tableau Online"
  8. Select "New Extract Refresh" and recreate the previous refresh schedules you had setup in Tableau Online


This occurs in the case where a Data Source was once refreshed by Tableau Bridge but it is now being refreshed by Tableau Online however the Tableau Bridge refresh schedules still exist. 
This was a known issue on Tableau Online which is fixed in the current version.
