Verifying Developer Certificates for Tableau Products on macOS

Question

How to verify whether Tableau products installed on macOS will be affected by the revocation of developer certificates on August 20, 2021

Answer

Check the developer certificate using the following steps:

Double-click the .dmg installer file for the product version.
Double-click the .pkg installer file to open the installer.
Click the lock icon in the upper-right corner of the installer window to see information about the certificate.
If the common name for the certificate is "Developer ID Installer: Tableau Software, LLC (QJ4XPRK37C)", then the product version will not be affected by the revocation of developer certificates on August 20, 2021.

If the version that will be affected is installed, it is recommended to download and install the new version. (The affected versions of the products are no longer available from the web site)

Additional Information

Once the old certificate is revoked, Tableau products released before July 2020 will no longer launch on macOS. Signing with the new certificate was part of Tableau’s integration process into Salesforce.
