- Tableau Server
AnswerIt is not possible to save extracts to a separate drive from the one where Tableau Server is installed. The installation drive is the only location that can accept the extract data due to the Data Engine process that it utilizes.
- If disk space is a constraint, Tableau Server can be moved to a different drive. For more information, see Moving Tableau Server to a Different Drive in the Tableau Knowledge Base.
- If Tableau Server is in a distributed environment, it is possible to move the Tableau Server Repository to a worker machine. For more information, see Distributed and Highly Available Tableau Server Installations in Tableau Help.
The extract folder can be found at the following locations:
- Default installation: C:\ProgramData\Tableau\Tableau Server\data\tabsvc\dataengine\extract
- Non-default installation: <installation folder>\data\tabsvc\dataengine\extract
For more information about this topic, please see Change default location of Extracts on Tableau Server in the Tableau Community Forums.
