Question

Upon running [tsm settings import / export] command in Tableau Server 2023.1.0, the following message is displayed.
The configuration file does not include the runas username and password. After importing, these values must be set explicitly.

 

Environment

  • Tableau Server version 2023.1 or later
  • Linux and Windows

Answer

This message does not mean that the command execution failed.

On Linux
  • No action is required.

On Windows,
  • If you did not change the default Run As Service Account (NT AUTHORITY\NetworkService), you can ignore this message.
  • If you changed the default Run As Service Account, this is a kind reminder to set the Runas username and password after the import.
