Question

How to custom [Isolation Level] When Connecting to IBM Db2?

Environment

  • Tableau Desktop
  • Tableau Prep Builder

Answer

The ability to custom [Isolation Level] When Connecting to IBM Db2 is currently not available in the DB2 native connector.

As a workaround, please consider using a .tdc file to specify the [Isolation Level] for DB.
For settings are available:
  • CAP_ISOLATION_LEVEL_READ_COMMITTED
  • CAP_ISOLATION_LEVEL_READ_UNCOMMITTED
  • CAP_ISOLATION_LEVEL_REPEATABLE_READS
  • CAP_ISOLATION_LEVEL_SERIALIZABLE
The steps are as follows.
1. Open the attached [db2.tdc] file in a text editor, such as Notepad, edit [customization name] and [value], and then save the change.
2. Copy the edited [db2.tdc] file to [Documents\My Tableau Repository\Datasources] or [Documents\My Tableau Prep Repository\Datasources].
3. Restart Tableau Desktop or Tableau Prep to apply the change.
