Applying internal configurations using TSM
Before applying these configuration changes, please note:- The server will have to be restarted for the new configuration to take effect.
- Be prepared to save all work and files before applying this configuration change.
To apply the configuration changes, launch a terminal on the machine that hosts Tableau Server and execute the following commands:
1 . How to change the default value of animations to off when creating a new workbook on Tableau Server
Note: This default value of the configuration has been changed to "true" from Tableau Server 2021.2.
tsm configuration set -k features.AnimationOnByDefault -v false
tsm pending-changes apply
After changing the defult setting, you can see it is set as "Off" in the menu.
2. How to disable the animation feature on Tableau Server
The commands below disables all the animations on Tableau Server.
tsm configuration set -k vizqlserver.mark_animation_enabled_for_server -v false
tsm pending-changes apply
After running the above commands, the animation menu is removed and cannot be used on all the workbooks and the nimations on existing workbooks are disabled.
