Question

How to check the expiration date of the Server ATR duration before shutting down or setting a test server/virtual machine (VM) offline for maintenance.

Environment

  • Tableau Server 2021.1 or later
  • Authorization-To-Run (ATR) Service

Answer

Use atrdiag -product "Tableau Server" command to confirm the TTL End.

Example:
******* ATR *******
UUID: {84e84f41-98da-11eb-8eac-0a3a48f90e09}
TTL Start: Fri Apr 9 02:23:05 2021
TTL End: Wed Apr 14 02:23:05 2021
Renew Validity Start: Fri Apr 9 14:23:05 2021
Renew Validity End: Wed Apr 14 02:23:05 2021

  • TTL Start: the date and time when the TTL lease date starts
  • TTL End: the date and time when the TTL lease expires
  • Renew Validity Start: the date and time when the renewal attempt begins
  • Renew Validity End: The date and time when the renewal attempt ends.

Additional Information

  • The TTL End can be refreshed if the Tableau Services Manager (TSM) Processes are running, even after running tsm stop command.
  • Please note that when the Tableau Services Manager (TSM) Processes are down or kept being offline, once the TTL End is expired Tableau Server will become unlicensed.
