How to change the email address associated with the product key in Customer Portal on Mac?

  • Online activation with product key


License registration information is stored in “~/Library/Preferences/com.tableau.Registration.plist” file, once you register it. If you would like to re-register the information, follow the steps below. 

1. Launch Tableau Desktop and deactivate the product key.
Note: Write down the product key in advance for your future use.
(1). Select Menu > Help > Manage Product Keys.
(2). Click the product key.
(3). Click Deactivate button.
(4). Stop Tableau Desktop.
2. Remove Tableau Desktop completely by following the instructions for Mac below.

3. Install Tableau Desktop. Then, registration box appears. Enter correct information.
4. Activate Tableau Desktop with the product key. Then, the information in customer portal is updated.
