Question

Does Tableau PostgreSQL Connector uses verify-ca or verify-full as ssl mode paremeter to connect to PostgreSQL when using "SSL Required" option?

Environment

  • Tableau Server
  • Tableau Desktop
  • PostgreSQL

Answer

Tableau Server/Desktop use sslmode=require as ssl mode paremeter by default when connecting to PostgreSQL with "SSL Required" option enabled. verify-ca or verify-full mode are not used.

Additional Information

To use sslmode=verify-ca or sslmode=verify-full as ssl mode paremeter, consider use Other Databases (JDBC) Connector to customize your JDBC connection URL with sslmode=verify-ca or sslmode=verify-full.
