How to deactivate a Tableau Server product key.

Answer

To deactivate a Tableau Server product key:

On Windows with Tableau Server version 2018.1 and older:
  1. Sign in to the computer running Tableau Server.
  2. Navigate to StartAll Programs > Tableau Server <version> > Manage Product Keys.
  3. Select the product key that you want to deactivate, and then click Deactivate.
  4. When prompted, click Yes.

On Windows with Tableau Server version 2018.2 and newer:

  1. Sign in to the computer running Tableau Server.
  2. Open Command Prompt as administrator.
  3. Run "tsm licenses deactivate -k <license key>".

On Linux:

  1. Sign in to the computer running Tableau Server.
  2. Run "tsm licenses deactivate -k <license key>".
