Answer

1. You must be a Salesforce administrator
2. You must have enabled Salesforce API Access Control and require apps to be allowlisted before accessing your Salesforce API
    

1. As a Salesforce administrator with permission to install connected apps, install the Tableau Cloud for Salesforce connected app using the following link:
   https://login.salesforce.com/identity/app/AppInstallApprovalPage.apexp?app_id=0Ci2E000000g1kd 
2. When prompted, install the app.
   
3. Once the app has been installed, it should appear in App Manager. 
   
4. Find “Tableau Cloud for Salesforce” in App Manager and choose Manage

    

   

5. Assign the appropriate profiles and permission sets for your organization.

    

   

6. Once the above steps have been completed, it will be possible for Tableau Cloud to authenticate with Salesforce.
