Question

Unable to see historical data after recent upgrade with the Tableau Resource Monitoring Tool.

Environment

  • Tableau Resource Monitoring Tool 2021.1.1

Answer

1. Stop The Resource Monitoring tool.
2. Directly identify the ports required for configuring the Resource Monitor Tool by running:

tsm topology list-ports

Optionally run tsm topology list-ports --service-name to verify any needed ports to be configured for the Resource Monitor Tool.

3. Update the Resource Monitoring Tool with the the ports with the dynamically designated Ports in order for the RMT to resolve. 
4. Start the Resource Monitoring Tool.

If Tableau Server port configurations are set before configuring the ports, it may be necessary to restart the RabbitMQ in order to start capturing data.

Additional Information

In Tableau Resource Monitor Tool 2021.1.1 - the ability to restore a configuration is not currently available.
