Show One Value in the Filter When Multiple Values in One Data Cell

Question

How to show only one value in the filter when there are multiple values in one data cell like below. 
If we add the [Product] in [Filter] shelf, it will show "AA, BB, CC" in the first line. How can I display "AA", "BB", "CC" in separate lines.

Sample data:

ID Product
1000 AA, BB, CC
1001 DD
1002 EE
1003 FF
==============

Wanted Filter Outcome:
==============
AA
BB
CC
DD
EE
FF
==============

Environment

  • Tableau Desktop

Answer

1. Split the [Product] field with separator ","

2. Create a Parameter and add all the separated fields in to list.

3. Create a calculation field as below to filter the data selected in the parameter.
CONTAINS([Product], [New Filter])

Additional Information

This kind of method can only filter one value due to parameter restrictions.
