Unable to launch or install Tableau Desktop on Mac

Issue

When launching or installing Tableau Desktop on Mac, the following errors may occur:

The app's authorisation has been revoked. There may be a problem with this app. Although the app was signed by an identified developer, the certificate for the app has been revoked, and it cannot be opened.

The TableauDesktop-<version number>.dmg can't be opened. You should move it to the trash.

We have resolved the certificate issue for the following versions in the August 2021 maintenance releases and later:

2021.2.2, 2021.1.5, 2020.4.8, 2020.3.12, 2020.2.17, 2020.1.20, 2019.4.23, 2019.3.24 and 2019.2.27

Tableau Prep Builder

Install Tableau Prep Builder 2021.2.2 or later. This version may be downloaded from the Tableau Prep Builder release notes page.
