Issue

When opening a workbook using wildcard union in Tableau Desktop 2020.3.0, 2020.3.1 or 2020.2.4, the following error occurs.

Unable to complete action
Internal Error - An unexpected error occurred and the operation could not be completed.
Error Code: 6EA18A9E

Environment

  • Tableau Desktop 2020.3.0
  • Tableau Desktop 2020.3.1

Resolution

Upgrade to a Tableau Desktop version above 2020.3.2

Cause

This is a known issue that is fixed in more recent versions of Tableau Desktop.
