Question

Tableau Resource Monitoring Tool (RMT) is configured to retain data for a default duration, storing two weeks of detailed data and ten years of aggregated reporting data. However, you have the flexibility to adjust these settings using the UI, config.json, or the rmtadmin command line utility.

Environment

Tableau Resource Monitoring Tool v2023.3.1

Answer

Here are the steps to change the data retention period using the UI:
  1. On the machine where RMT Server is installed, go to: http://<hostname>
  2. Navigate to the Admin tab and select Global Configuration.
  3. Choose the Data section to modify Data Retention and Reporting Data settings.
  4. Save the changes to apply the new data retention period.
