Environment

  • Tableau Desktop

Answer

To edit the dashboard to display the axes and not a blank sheet even when there is no data, follow the steps below:

1.    Make a duplicate of your original view. Name it Empty axis. In the Empty axis sheet, click on Colour in  Marks card. Choose the white colour to hide the graph.
2.    Drag the Empty axis sheet on to the dashboard. Hide the title of this sheet.
3.    Drag the original view onto the dashboard. Click on the down arrow and select Floating. Hide the title of this sheet too.
4.    Expand the sheet over the Empty axis sheet to cover up the entire Sheet.
