Include or Exclude Data from a Pie Chart

You can apply filters to the pie mark on the Marks card to create a pie chart that shows only the measures you want to display.

Step 1 

Connect to your data source. This example uses the Sample - Coffee Chain data source.

Step 2 

On the Marks card drop-down list, select Pie.

Step 3 

From the Data pane, drag the Measure Names field onto the Filters shelf.

Step 4 

In the Filter dialog box, clear the check boxes for all the measures you want to exclude from the pie chart. For this example, clear all check boxes except for COGS, Marketing, and Total Expenses and click OK.

Step 5 

From Dimensions, drag the Measure Names field to the Label and the Color shelves.

Step 6 

From Measures, drag the Measure Values field to Size.

Step 7 

Drag the right and bottom edges of the view to make space for the pie chart, then on the Marks card, click Size and drag the slider to increase or decrease the size of the pie chart.
