When saving a workbook to the web, you may be informed that the workbook is too large to publish because you've exceeded your space quota on Tableau Public.
If you receive this message, it could be because of one of the following reasons:
- You may have saved more than your allowed space on Tableau Public. You can check your remaining space and manage your content by signing on to Tableau Public.
- Your data source may have more than the allowed rows. When saving to Tableau Public you can only publish workbooks that connect to 1 million rows of data or less. Try reducing the number of rows in your data source before saving to the web. If you are using Tableau Desktop Professional or Personal editions you can reduce the number of rows by creating an extract.
- Your underlying data source may have too many columns or too wide of columns causing you to reach your space limit. A data source with a particularly high number of columns or even very wide columns can sometimes cause this error. Try reducing the number of columns or the column widths in your underlying data source before loading it into Tableau.
