Both Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server require product keys to activate the products. The product key was provided when you first purchased the product. If you have misplaced your key, you can recover it in the Customer Portal. You must be added as a user on the associated account to access product keys in Customer Portal. If you are not an administrator for your product key, please contact your administrator to recover you key.
If you have access to an account in the Customer Portal, follow the steps below to recover your product keys.
Sign into the Customer Portal using your Tableau username and password.
On the Customer Portal home page, click My Keys. Your product keys are listed in the table, copy the product key for the product you are activating.
