When running a tabadmin zip log, you may notice that it contains several “zip warning: Permissions denied” messages. Typically, these messages are recorded to the zip log file when it cannot gain access to files that are being used by a Tableau Server process or by the operating system while the log file is being generated. In other words, the messages occur as a result of Tableau Server running while the zip log file is being generated.
In most cases, you can ignore these messages. Tableau will notify you if you need to stop Tableau Server and regenerate the zip log files to help diagnose your issue.
