View is still Filtered After Removing Filter Action

Issue

After removing a filter action, then the target view may still be filtered

Environment

Tableau Desktop

Resolution

  1. Navigate to the target worksheet.
  2. Drag the Filter Action off of the Filters shelf.

Cause

When an Filter Action is first triggered, Tableau Desktop automatically adds a field to the Filters shelf for the Filer Action. Tableau Desktop does not automatically remove this field from the target worksheet when the Filter Action is removed from the dashboard.
