Scrollbars or Filters Display Incorrectly or Missing Rows in Internet Explorer

Issue

When opening a workbook in Internet Explorer, on a view or filter with a large number of rows, one or more of the following issues occur:
  • Not all rows display.
  • A scroll bar may be present, but not functional.
  • A drop-down filter is not tall enough to display more than one item.

Environment

  • Tableau Server
  • Internet Explorer

Resolution

Option 1

Use an alternate browser.

Option 2

Design views so that the number of rows does not exceed the browser limitation for maximum scroll size.
For example, use parameters or other filters to reduce the number of rows in the view, or filter the view and use "Only relevant values" to reduce the number of rows in a filter.

Cause

Internet Explorer has a maximum limit for scroll height which is smaller than the maximum limit for some other browsers. Large views might exceed this maximum and data beyond that point will be cut off or display incorrectly.
