Unable to Generate Tableau Server Log Files in Internet Explorer

Issue

In Internet Explorer 8, the option to generate and download a snapshot of the Tableau Server log files might not be available.

Environment

  • Tableau Server 8.2.0 - 8.2.4
  • Internet Explorer 8

Resolution

Option 1

Upgrade to Tableau Server 8.2.5 or a later version. For more information, see Upgrading Tableau Server in the Tableau Knowledge Base.

Option 2

Use a later version of Internet Explorer or a different web browser.

Cause

This behavior is a known issue that has been corrected in more recent releases.
