Unable to Find Objects or Fields in Salesforce with TargetX Integration

Issue

When using Tableau Desktop to connect to a Salesforce instance built as part of a TargetX integration, objects or fields within those objects may not appear as expected.

Environment

  • Tableau Desktop
  • Salesforce.com
  • TargetX integration

Resolution

Append ".tgx" to the end of your email when logging in to Salesforce from Tableau Desktop. For example, a person with the email "jsmith@company.com" would log in with "jsmith@company.com.tgx" 
 

Cause

Salesforce instances with TargetX integration may require logins with .tgx at the end of the email address.
 

Additional Information

Salesforce Workbench can be used to verify whether your login is pointed at the correct Salesforce instance.  Make sure to select version 30 of the API when investigating.
