Environment
- Tableau Desktop
- OS X
Resolution
Use one of the following workarounds.
Workaround 1
- Connect to IBM DB2 from Tableau Desktop on Windows. The Tableau Desktop license allows a single user to install Tableau Desktop on two computers, such as a Mac and a PC, or a Mac and a virtual machine running Windows. The same license key can be used for both Windows and OS X.
- In Tableau Desktop on Windows, create an extract of the data. For more information, see Extracting Data.
- Open Tableau Desktop on a Mac, and connect to the extract.
Workaround 2
If Tableau Server or Tableau Cloud is available, data extracts can be published from Tableau Desktop on Windows to Tableau Server or Tableau Cloud, and then accessed from Tableau Desktop on the Mac. Tableau Server and Tableau Cloud can also automatically keep your data current by using scheduled refreshes. For more information, see Extract Refresh Schedules, and Keep Data Fresh.
