Taleau Server User Interface Displays Extracts as .tde instead of .hyper

Issue

When .hyper extracts are published via tabcmd the Taleau Server User Interface displays them as .tde.

Environment

Tableau Server 10.5, 10.5.1, 10.5.2
Windows Server

Resolution

As a Tableau Server Administrator, upgrade to Tableau Server 10.5.3. For more information, see Upgrading Tableau Server in Tableau Help.

Cause

Tableau Server 10.5 prior to version 10.5.3 displays the wrong file type in the User Interface despite the extract being created as a .hyper file.

This behavior is related to a known issue (ID: 754677) which has been fixed in a recent release of Tableau Server.

Additional Information

If the extract is downloaded locally as a .tdsx file and opened in a previous version of Tableau Desktop, before 10.5, the following message is displayed:

"This file was created by a newer version of Tableau. Please upgrade Tableau to the version (or greater) that the file was saved in."
