Quick Filters Blank After Replacing Data Source

Issue

After you replace a data source, quick filters might become blank.

Environment

Tableau Desktop 8.1 and 8.2

Resolution

Option 1: 
Upgrade Tableau Desktop to 9.0 or a later version. For more information, see Upgrading Tableau Desktop.

Option 2: 
Use the following workaround.

  1. Open the workbook in Tableau Desktop.
  2. Open each dashboard, and wait for the dashboard to load.
  3. After all the dashboards have loaded, replace the data source. For more information, see Replacing a Data Source in the Tableau Knowledge Base.
If the issue is occurring after you have replaced the data source, re-add the quick filters to the view.
