Persistent "Executing Query" or "Processing Request" Message and Workbooks Do Not Open After Upgrade

Issue

After upgrading to Tableau Desktop 9.3.4 or Tableau Server 9.3.4, workbooks might fail to open and an Executing Query or Processing Request message displays.

Environment

  • Tableau Desktop 9.3.4
  • Tableau Reader 9.3.4
  • Tableau Server 9.3.4

Cause

This behavior is related to a known issue which has been corrected in more recent versions.

Additional Information

This behavior has only been seen with workbooks created in older versions. New workbooks created using Tableau Desktop 9.3.4 do not encounter this issue.
