Issue

When re-publishing a workbook (overwriting a workbook) to Tableau Online from Tableau Desktop 10.0, all existing scheduled extract refreshes of embedded extracts are removed, requiring the extract schedules to be reassigned

Environment

  • Tableau Online

Resolution

Workarounds:
  1. Re-publish the workbook (overwrite the workbook) from a version of Tableau Desktop prior to 10.0
  2. Utilize Published Data Sources rather than Embedded Data Sources:
Get your Data to Tableau Online
  3. Screenshot existing refresh schedules of the embedded extracts of the workbook that is going to be overwritten, re-publish the workbook, reference the screenshot and re-assign extract refreshes accordingly
