Issue

When a query is cancelled on the database due to some time limit configured either in Desktop or on the database itself, the following behaviors would occur:
  • You would not receive any notification
  • The cancelled query returns the following statement: SQLSTATE_EXEC_QUERY_CANCELED
  • A blank view would appear if you had never loaded such view in the past
  • A partially grayed-out view would display if such view had been previously loaded

Environment

  • Tableau Server
  • Tableau Desktop
  • Postgres
  • Vertica

Resolution

Upgrade to Tableau Desktop 10.5.3, 10.3.10, 10.4.6 or a later version. For more information, see Upgrading Tableau Desktop in Tableau Help.

Cause
