Refreshing an Extract Causes “Mismatched row counts” Error

Issue

When performing an extract refresh, the refresh fails with the following error:

Tableau Data Engine Error: 4: Scan::Next: Mismatched row counts. The table "[Extract].[Extract]" does not exist. Unable to connect to the server "xxx.xxx.xxx". Check that the server is running and that you have access privileges to the requested database.

Environment

  • Tableau Server 7 and later versions

Resolution

  1. Recreate the extract in Tableau Desktop.
  2. Publish the new extract to Tableau Server, adding full extract refresh instead of incremental, if applicable.

Additional Information
