To resolve this issue, follow the procedure below.
- Create a new connection to the data source by selecting Data > Connect to data.
- Create an extract from the new connection by selecting the data source from the Data menu, and then selecting Extract Data.
- Select Data > Replace Data Source. Note: If you are using Tableau Desktop 6.1 and earlier, follow the procedure in Option 1 of the Replacing a Data Source article.
- Right-click the original (corrupted) data connection in the Data pane, and select Close.
