Incremental Refresh via Sync Client Duplicating Data

Issue

When performing incremental refreshes using Bridge, underlying rows become duplicated in published data source. 

Environment

  • Tableau Online 
  • Tableau Desktop
  • Sync Client 10.0.0 - 10.0.3 and 10.1.0 - 10.1.1
  • Incremental Refresh 

Resolution

Option 1 

Upgrade to Tableau Desktop 10.0.4, 10.1.2. or later version.

If it isn't possible to upgrade, use these workaround options.

Option 2 

Perform a full refresh of the data source. 

Option 3

Use the Command-Line Utility to perform the incremental refresh. See Automate Extract Refresh Tasks from the Command Line for more information. 

Cause

This behavior is related to a known issue, which has been corrected in recent versions of Tableau Desktop and Online..
