Filestore Status Not Available After Upgrading to Tableau Server 10.3.0 in Distributed Environment
Published: 05 Jun 2017
Last Modified Date: 09 Jun 2017
IssueAfter installing or upgrading to 10.3 in a distributed (multi-node) environment with hosts that contain CAPITAL letters, filestore status is unavailable. Tabadmin status -v shows filestore status unavailable and Server status page will show filestore status as an empty white box.. Filestore.log and clustercontroller.log will show the following repeatedly:
2017-06-07 09:14:09.783 -0700 discovery-1 WARN : com.tableausoftware.tdfs.common.LegacyFileStoreServiceRegistry - no matching live host for [YourServerName]
- Tableau Server 10.3.0
- Distributed environment
- At least one host name that contains capital letters
ResolutionThis issue is purely cosmetic and does not indicate any malfunction in the software. The incorrect status can be ignored and Tableau Server may be used as usual.
If the incorrect status is not acceptable, you can roll back to an earlier version of the software which is not affected by this issue. See Rolling Back to an Earlier Installation of Tableau Server for more information.
CauseThis behavior is related to a known issue with ID 655173 which is currently under investigation.
Additional InformationThis issue is purely cosmetic. Tableau Server is still syncing files and functioning properly. This can be confirmed by successfully publishing an extract. To confirm that all filestores have been updated, compare the file sizes of the dataengine folder on each node with an active filestore.
