Error "startDate cannot be more than 30 days ago" Refreshing Salesforce Extracts

Issue

When you try to refresh a Salesforce extract, the following error might occur:

An Error occurred while refreshing Cases (Salesforce)
Internal Server Error
INVALID_REPLICATION_DATE: startDate cannot be more than 30 days ago

Environment

  • Tableau Desktop 8.0 and later versions
  • Salesforce

Resolution

One of the following troubleshooting steps might solve the issue.

Option 1: Upgrade

  1. Upgrade to Tableau Desktop 8.1.2 or a later version. For more information, see Upgrading Tableau Desktop in the Tableau Knowledge Base.
  2. Fully refresh the extract. For more information, see Refreshing an Extract in the Tableau Knowledge Base.

Option 2: Change the Join

If upgrading does not resolve the issue, this error is specific to Salesforce and the join field.

When you connect to multiple Salesforce tables from Tableau Desktop, exclude startDate from the join. For more information, see Salesforce in Tableau Help.

Cause

  • This behavior is a known issue that has been corrected in more recent releases.
  • The value of startDate cannot be more than 30 days prior to the current date.
