Error "Sign in failed" Accessing Embedded View from SAML-Enabled Tableau Server

Issue

When accessing an embedded view on a SAML-enabled Tableau Server, the view might not load, and the following error might occur:

Sign in failed

Environment

Tableau Server 9.0.9, 9.1.3, 9.2.0

Resolution

Upgrade to Tableau Server 9.1.6, 9.0.12, 9.2.4, or a newer version. For more information, see Upgrading Tableau Server.

Cause

This behavior is related to a known issue that has been corrected in more recent releases.

If the view fails to load after trying the above resolution, this might be an indication that your IdP is using clickjack protection. For more information, contact your IdP administrator.
