Error "Error sending Crosstab to Excel" When Exporting View

When exporting a view using the Crosstab to Excel option, the following error might occur:

Ensure that the following conditions are met:
Ensure that Microsoft Office is installed on the computer running Tableau Desktop.
Make sure that none of the files are "locked".
If you have two different versions of Microsoft Office installed, run an installation repair on the version of Microsoft Office you do not want to use as the default version for exporting a crosstab. For more information, see Repair or remove programs at Microsoft.
Ensure that the computer you are using has sufficient memory to export all marks, or export a smaller subset of marks, especially if you are experiencing other memory-related errors. For more information, see Resolve memory errors.
Excel must be installed on the computer running Tableau Desktop in order to export to it successfully.
When two versions of Microsoft Office are installed, Tableau Desktop might encounter difficulty determining which version to choose.
Because each mark in the view corresponds to values in the underlying data, exporting a large crosstab to Excel may exhaust memory.
