Error "Invalid Username or Password" When Connecting to Teradata

Issue

When connecting to Teradata, the following error might occur:
 
Invalid Username or Password

Additionally, the following errors might appear in the Tableau Desktop log files:

Environment

  • Tableau Desktop

Resolution

  1. Uninstall any 64-bit Teradata drivers from the computer running Tableau Desktop.
  2. Install 32-bit Teradata drivers. For more information, see Installing Teradata Drivers.

Cause

The wrong drivers were installed on the computer running Tableau Desktop.
