Dates Return as Null When Connecting to Oracle Eloqua on a Mac

Issue

When connecting to Oracle Eloqua on a Mac, Eloqua date data does not populate and might return null when there are dates listed in another tool.

Environment

  • Tableau Desktop 10.2.1
  • Eloqua
  • Canadian date/time set

Resolution

Option 1

Upgrade to Tableau Desktop 10.2.6, 10.3.4, or 10.4.1. For more information, see Upgrading Tableau Desktop in Tableau Help.

Option 2

Change the date formatting on the system to US instead of the UK dates format (MM/DD/YYYY vs. DD/MM/YYYY).

Cause

Tableau's Eloqua connector does not convert between US and UK dates. This behavior is related to a known issue (ID: 658121) which has been fixed in a recent release of Tableau Desktop.
