- Tableau Server
- Generate a new key in the PKCS#1 format (RSA Public Key File).
- Once the new key is generated, create a new Certificate Signing Request (CSR) separately.
- Use the new CSR to create a new certificate.
For more information on the above steps, see Example: SSL Certificate - Generate a Key and CSR.
CausePKCS#8 formatted keys cannot be used with SAML in Tableau Server.
This issue can be caused by using a single command to generate both the key and CSR, rather than generating them separately.
Additional InformationWhen viewed in a text editor, a PKCS#1 formatted key will begin with 'BEGIN RSA PRIVATE KEY' and a PKCS#8 formatted key will begin with 'BEGIN PRIVATE KEY'
