Error "Path does not exist" Refreshing Custom SQL Extracts with Parameters Using Tableau.com and Bridge (Sync Client)

Issue

When attempting to refresh data sources via command-line utility or Bridge (formerly Sync Client), which were built using Custom SQL and include parameters, the following error occurs:
 
Tableau Data Engine Error: 1000: Path does not exist.
C:\\Users\\REPORT~1\\AppData\\Local\\Temp\\TableauTemp\\increment_052fokz1tqlikd1e0cuw615bs2tw.tde"

Environment

  • Tableau Online 10.2.0 - 10.2.2, 10.3.0, 10.3.1
  • Bridge (formerly Sync Client) 
  • Command Line Utility 
  • Custom SQL containing Parameters

Resolution

Install Tableau Desktop 10.2.3, 10.3.2 or newer to resolve the issue. See Upgrade Tableau Desktop for more information.
