As part of the offline activation process using an older key, you will upload an offline.tlq file to our activation website. If you are not using the most recent maintenance key, the website will automatically provide you with the new maintenance key. You can then perform the offline activation process using that maintenance key.
If you need the key before attempting offline activation, first check your Tableau Customer Portal. Often, the newest maintenance key will be listed in the Keys page. The maintenance end date is displayed beside each key, so you'll be able to see which is the newest key listed. If the key is not available through options 1 or 2 above, please contact Tableau Customer Service at firstname.lastname@example.org. Explain that you are activating offline and need a copy of your maintenance key. They'll be happy to provide the new key to you!
