Question

As a Server administrator, how to disable OAuth for Google so that previous API information has been deleted from the config files.

Environment

  • Tableau Server 10.1.4
  • Google Data Source

Answer

  1. On the primary Tableau Server node, open the Command Prompt as an Administrator
  2. Navigate to the Tableau Server bin folder, located by default at C:\Program Files\Tableau\Tableau Server\<version>\bin
  3. Run the following commands:

    tabadmin stop
    tabadmin set oauth.google.client_id -d
    tabadmin set oauth.google.client_secret -d
    tabadmin set oauth.google.redirect_uri -d
    tabadmin config
    tabadmin start

  4. After Tableau Server has started, verify the settings have been removed by running tabadmin get [option-name]. See tabadmin commands for more information.

Additional Information

  • The flag -"d" or "--default" can be used to reset the configuration setting
  •  "default" is a blank entry.
  • leaving the value blank or using "" or " " will not remove the API values. This will add the actual quotation marks or input a space string rather than NULL.
