The attached example workbook uses the sample data set Superstore to demonstrate the following instructions:
Create the Blank Worksheet
- Create a new worksheet with a name like "Blank Worksheet"
- Create a calculated field with a name like "Blank" with a calculation similar to the following:

- Drag [Blank] to the Columns shelf and to Text on the marks card
- Resize the worksheet to the desired amount of whitespace
- Right-click on "Blank" in the view and select Hide field labels for columns
- Right-click on one of the lines in the view and select Format
- In the left-hand Format pane, do the following:
- Click on the Borders button, which looks like a grid
- For Row Divider, for pane select None
- Click on the "x" in the upper right to close the Format pane
- Drag [Sheet Selector Calculation] to the Filters shelf
- In the Filter dialog, check Sheet 2 and click OK
Update the Dashboard
- Drag the worksheet "Blank Worksheet" onto the dashboard where whitespace is desired
- Right-click the title "Blank Worksheet" on the dashboard and select Hide Title
